She was just walking home

An additional episode of TFFF recorded in response to the tragic deaths of Sarah Everard, Bennylyn Burke and her daughter Jellica. As women, feminists and activists, Pinky and Lucy both felt moved to create this short podcast for any TFFF listeners who feel it might be helpful to have a collective space to process, express and grieve. It features a moving statement from Pinky and a new song written and performed by Katy Rose Bennett called ‘She Was Just Walking Home’. 

We also invite you to use your activism in the following ways:

• Take part in the government call for evidence on the new Violence Against Women & Girls strategy which has been reopened given the public sharing of stories of feeling unsafe in the wake of Sarah’s death – this closes on the 26th March.
• Support your local sexual and/or domestic violence service either with a donation, volunteering, or by raising awareness that they exist for those who may need their support. These can be found on the Rape Crisis England & Wales and Women’s Aid websites.
• Talk to your friends about issues of violence against women and girls – especially male friends about how they can become better allies.
